Blue Lotus, or Nymphaea caerulea, is a species of water lily that inhabits lakes and rivers in the Nile delta. The blue flower was used as a party plant in ancient Egypt and can still be seen on the walls of Egyptian tombs. Blue lotus flower has been historically used as a mild stimulant and anxiety reliever. The petals and stamens were often soak in water or wine. The petals were even dried and rolled into cigarettes.
