Optiphen

Optiphen Preservative is a paraben-free blend of Phenoxyethanol and Caprylyl Glycol in an emollient base. It effectively protects against microbial growth while imparting a pleasant feel to your product. It is a versatile, multi-functional ingredient that moisturizes, improves after-feel, and modifies viscosity in some formulations. Optiphen is suitable for various personal care products, including creams, lotions, salves, body butters, and body scrubs. It can be used in both aqueous and anhydrous systems and is compatible with most raw materials. Optiphen should be added at or below 100°F.

Please note that it is not recommended for products consisting entirely of water. Recommended usage levels range from 0.5% to 1.5%, and it works effectively within a pH range of 4.0 to 8.0. The INCI name for Optiphen is Phenoxyethanol (and) Caprylyl Glycol.
